Stafford Hall is now a state of the art specialist school focusing care on children with Autism and complex needs.
The school now contains brand new offices, 10 bedrooms, classrooms and a complete revamp of the landscaped areas, including a permeable carpark.
The building was a derelict Grade 2 listed building. IB Construction worked closely with the local council and building control to ensure the project’s requirements were met while achieving a tight programme, caused by the locating and removal of Asbestos.
Within the school grounds was a coach house which was completed as part of the works. The building was stripped of the interior, we then re-installed new floors, and stair cases to allow the building to work efficiently for the client. In addition, 4 bedrooms, 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms were installed into this coach house.
Due to the particular requirements of the client, each screw used on the public face of the project was a security screw. This will mean that only approved contractors are able to work on the building in the future, therefore safeguarding the children’s wellbeing while they are at the school.
