| West Midlands based I B Construction
have completed an impressive new building for The
Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints at New Penkridge Road,
Cannock. The £1.9m development took just under
11 months from start to finish and combines a steel-framed
brick and stone clad construction with contemporary
architectural finishes. The modern design comprises
of a large chapel, meeting rooms, passenger lift and
is crowned by a stainless steel spire.
The local environment was of prime
concern before the construction works commenced.
I B Construction liaised
with the local authority, placing particular importance
to landscaping and existing trees. To this extent the
soft and hard landscaping has been designed to ensure
natural drainage to the trees on and surrounding the
site.
The new Church is located in an
area of high value residential properties and had
difficult site access
issues, however these were resolved and good relationships
were established with the local residents.
I B Construction was delighted
to receive complimentary correspondence from nearby
residents congratulating
them on the quality of the build as well as the consideration
and professionalism with which it was carried out.
The keys for the Church were presented
to Mr Bill Fee, Facilities Manager on April 4th 2005
in preparation
for the opening on Sunday 10th April 2005.
